This brass spring loaded lancet is very large for Veternary use. It was made by Weigand and Snowdon in Philadelphia between 1821 and 1855 when they dissolved their business. It is in its original velvet lined box covered in brown book leather. The cocking mechanism and blade are iron and the trigger is brass. It also has an extra device on it that adjusts the depth of cut of the blade. The condition is very good. The lancet is 4″ by 2″ by 1″ and the box measures 4 3/4″ by 2 1/2″ by 1″. Both weigh 6.4 ozs.
