This is a spring loaded lancet used in human bloodletting. It is in its original chamois lined box. Lancets like these were used since the early 1700′s The condition is average with no leather left on the box. The cocking mechanism and blade are iron and the trigger is wrought iron with a twist design on it. It is 2″ by 1″ by .5″ and the box measures 3″ by 1.5″ by .75″. Both weigh 1.4 ozs.
