This is a plain white pill tile and hardwood pill finisher with two different pill sizes. After the pills were cut on the pill roller they were rounded with the pill finisher by placing the pill on a tile under the finisher which was moved about in a figure eight. These tiles were used until they were replaced by glass or porcelain after 1900. The tile is 10″ by10″ by 3/8″ and the finisher is 2 3/4″ in diameter and 3/4″ tall. Both weigh 3 lbs 3.2 oz.
