Mallard decoy by an unknown maker. It is well painted and well carved. The wing tips and individual primaries are carved. And the bill has carved nostrils as well as the nail on the tip of the bill. The grain of the wood was used to advantage in simulating feathers. There is moderate wear on the paint of head and tail. This decoy is 17″ long, 7″ wide and 6.5″ tall and weighs 2 lbs.
