Ebony Octant, 619

Ebony Octant made by Isaace Bradfor of Wapping Old Stairs, London c.1800.

$850.00

This Octant was made by I. Bradford address of Wapping Old Stairs, London.(see pic. of the ivory label.) Isaac Bradford worked from 1794 to 1822. The brass arm is 16″ long. The octant has problems; the ivory scale is missing and the instrument and box are a marriage, but they have been together a long time. (I usually sell empty boxes when I find them for 500.00.) The label on the inside lid of the box reads E. Madenger, New York.
